"Stepping into PST, we were all feeling in good spirits. Our shows of Fall 2019 have been going well so there was a lot to be excited about. A serious mangia sesh at Frank Pepe’s beforehand didn’t hurt either. We were also celebrating the birthday of our friend Zach Franck, who wrote both of the sets that Bacon performed that night. Two things I wasn’t aware of that night. First, I didn’t know that Zach would be writing sets for the whole evening, which I’m glad he did. Because the second thing I wasn’t aware of was that I’d be witnessing one of the best bacon shows that I’ve seen to date. I don’t know whether it’s because of the month of November (the last pivotal bacon show imo being Bourbon and Branch Nov ‘17), Chris stripping down his rig, Kevin using a pristine bass pre amp, or whatever the hell’s in those white monsters Jack’s been drinking, but bacon is Tight; with a capital T. There’s been much more reward with the risks that they’ve been taking. They’re exploring new sounds, new rhythmic motifs, and breaking in their new material to where it’s 2nd nature segue shop. This show is a perfect blend of previous and fresh material. Familiar categorized sounds and atmospheres that are then flipped around into sonically expanding territory. It’s business as usual, and taking care of business. PST 2019 is the breaking ground for future Bacon, pure and simple. And if you don’t know, now you know ... (don’t say that)"
